Bio
Dr. Caruth is one of the first female graduates of the Orthopaedic Surgery Program at the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica. A highly motivated, goal-oriented professional, Dr. Caruth is disciplined, meticulous, thoughtful and empathetic in dealings with colleagues and patients. Orthopaedics seemed a natural fit and because of her presence in this field within the Caribbean, other women will realise that orthopaedic surgery is also open and available to them.
Dr. Caruth received her basic and specialist training at University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI), Mona, Jamaica and University of the West Indies (UWI), Mount Hope, Trinidad. She also worked in Bermuda, as a surgical resident, at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital (KEMH) from 2005-2008, prior to entering the specialist training program at UHWI, Jamaica.
After graduating in November 2014, she practiced as a Board registered/licensed specialist in Jamaica, Cayman Islands and Bermuda and also is registered in Trinidad and Tobago and British Virgin Islands.
During her course of training she developed a deep interest, and expertise in orthopaedic trauma, paediatric orthopaedic surgery and has done studies in Bermuda concerning total knee replacements.
An executive board member of the Caribbean Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons (TCOS) from 2022 and an international member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons since 2015. Dr Caruth is excited about expanding orthopaedic training throughout the Caribbean and Bermuda.
Having studied and practiced in multiple jurisdictions Dr. Caruth has a passion for her profession and every day looks forward to drawing upon her experience to offer solid expertise and superior care to all of her patients. She joined Orthopaedic Associates in November 2016 and is an integral part of the team.
