Services at Physiotherapy Associates
Physiotherapy treats pain and stiffness in your joints, muscles, nerves and soft tissues. Our physiotherapists have been specially selected to do more than just treat the symptoms; they expertly identify and treat the root causes.
Your first visit to Physiotherapy Associates includes an initial evaluation and assessment during which we will take the time to discuss all aspects of your problem to ensure we understand the complete picture.
Treatment will then consist of these main approaches:
- 'Hands on' therapy to relieve pain and restore movement.
- Movement analysis: a program that looks at how your pain causes you to move differently.
- Education is given to explain a patient's individual problem.
- Exercise helps reinforce the treatment approach. It is hoped that a patient will try to incorporate any given exercises and postural changes, to maximise the benefit of physiotherapy.
Our services include:
- Pre and post operative orthopaedic physiotherapy
- Joint mobilisation & manipulation
- Soft tissue release
- Movement analysis
- Specific exercise prescription
- Biomechanical foot and gait assessment
- Kinesio taping
- Rehabilitation Pilates by a Certified Pilates Instructor - individual or group sessions.
- Home visits to patients who are unable to attend the clinic.
- Ergonomics / work site assessments. This may be arranged for a small or large company too.
- Hydrotherapy
All our therapists are British trained and registered physiotherapists. They are all members of the Bermuda Physiotherapy Assosication. They are registered with all major insurance companies via Physiotherapy Associates as a health care provider. Each therapist attends courses to demonstrate continuing professional development, ensuring a high standard of care.
